Argentina has a population of over 40.3 million people and is the second largest nation in South America.
The official language spoken in Argentina is Spanish but English is widely spoken. Some Argentinian's also speak French and German. Over 92% of Argentina's population are Roman Catholic but over 80% of them are non-practicing. There are also small Protestant and Jewish minorities. Argentina's capital and largest city Buenos Aires is situated in the northeast of the country on the coast of the Rio de la Plata and is home to over 3 million people.
There are many things to see in Argentina, especially in Buenos Aires, such as the BasÃlica de Santo Domingo built in the 18th century, the Casa Rosada presidential palace where Evita famously appeared in the 1940's, the Catedral Metropolitana dating from the 1820's and the Floralis Genérica monument that was built in 2002. Another popular place to visit is the Museo Casa Ernesto 'Che' Guevara, a museum dedicated to Che Guevara's early years. This museum was built on the site of the Guevara's main place of residence, Villa Beatriz.
