Bridgetown which was originally known as the Town of Saint Michael is the capital city of Barbados. Set near Carlisle Bay Bridgetown is situated on the south west coast of Barbados and is home to over 96,600 people. Bridgetown attracts many visitors each year with many guests arriving on major cruises that dock at the Bridgetown Port.

While you are there be sure to visit the Bridgetown's historic church. St Mary's Church is of Georgian architecture and dates as far back as 1827. Also one of the best ways to learn about Bridgetown is by touring the local museum.

One of the most popular destinations is known as Careenage which was originally Bridgetowns's port for ships. While you are there you can stop for lunch or a drink at one of the many restaurants. There is also a spectacular shopping villiage where you will be able to search through a variety of treasures and souvenir's.
