General Information about Sucre

Sucre which is the capital of Bolivia is situated in the centre of the country of Bolivia and has been inhabited since 1538. Sucre is home to 225,000 people and often referred to as the Jewel of South America.

One of the first places that many visitors to Sucre head to is La Casa de la Libertad which is a restored convent that can be found at the Central Plaza. Also for all of those dinosaur fans then a trip to Cal Orkco should not be missed, here you will see some fascinating dinosaur footprints.

If you are a chocolate lover then you will be in for a treat as Sucre is well known for its delicious chocolates. There are a variety of shops where you will be able to pick up a souvenir and be sure to check out some of the city's beautiful tapestries.
