General Information about Puerto Natales

Found at the Southern part of Chile the city of Puerto Natales can be found within the region of Magallanes. When Peurto Natales was first inhabited back in 1557 the city was named Ultima Esperanza but was officially changed to Peurto Natales in 1911. Ultima Esperanza is now the name of the regions province which includes Cerro Torre, Cerro Chalten and Torres del Paine National Park. Peurto Natales is the capital of this province and is home to over 20,000 residents.

The main attraction of Peurto Natales is the towns close proximity to the Torres del Paine National Park. Well known for its three caves the Cueva del Milodon Natural Monument is also worth exploring through. The Cueva del Milodon Natural Monument was discovered back in 1896 and is one of Chile's Natural Monuments. There are no flights or trains travelling to Peurto Natales however there are a number of buses travelling to and from Argentina.
