Tibet is well known as being the Roof of the World while nations capital Lhasa is Tibetan for Place of the Gods.
One of Tibet's most recognised historical buildings is the Potala Palace which is set in Lhasa. The Potala Palace is today listed as a World Heritage Site by the UNESCO and has had many purposes throughout history.
