Hagåtña

General Information about Hagåtña

Hagåtña which is the capital of Guam was originally known as Agana and was first established back in 1668. Changed to Hagåtña in 1998, Hagåtña is home to just over one thousand people is a small town in the centre of the island along the west coast.

Hagåtña which means 'his or her blood' features many beautiful beaches that are perfect for relaxing as well as some charming parks. There are many historical sites to visit while visiting Hagåtña such as Plaza de Espana and the Basillica.

Hagåtña also has some decent shopping hot spots with the Chamorro Village being the best place to start. There are many restaurants to try while visiting this charming village with most serving a fine selection of traditional cuisine and seafood.
