Guyana has a population of over 751,000 people and is the only English-speaking country in South America. Other languages spoken in Guyana are Creole, Urdu and some Amerindian dialects. 50% of the Guyanese people are Christian. The remainder are mainly Hindu or Muslim. Guyana's capital and largest city is Georgetown which is located on the coast of the North Atlantic Ocean and is home to over 213,000 people.
Guyana has many waterfalls such as the Kaieteur Falls, Marshall Falls and Orinduik Falls. The Kaieteur Falls, which is also a national park has a 250 metre high cliff off which over 30,000 gallons of water shoot over each second. Here it is also possible to stand atop the waterfall and look over the edge into the ancient jungle. Georgetown is home to the Square of the Revolution which features a monument dedicated to Cuffy who lead the 1763 rebellion and St George's Cathedral. Built in 1892, St George's cathedral is a Gothic-style Anglican cathedral which is said to be the tallest wooden building in the world.
