The official language spoken in Bonaire is Dutch but many people speak Papiamento, Spanish and English also. English is understood best in Kralendijk.
The primary religion in Bonaire is Christian and there are many churches on the island. Around the island of Bonaire, the waters are clear and safe. There is a variety of marine life to be seen so scuba-diving and snorkelling are popular activities. There are also many sailing charters on offer and Bonaire has a great climate to try windsurfing. The Washington-Slagbaai National Park is a popular place to visit. This national park takes up 20% of Bonaire's land and there are many species of birds, reptiles and cacti to be seen.
