Found on the south peninsula of New Caledonia on the island of Grande Terre, Noumea is a popular stop for many cruises.
Noumea is the ideal holiday destination with its many beautiful sandy beaches which are perfect for windsurfing and sailing or just relaxing. There are plenty of museums to visit while you are at Noumea such as the City of Noumea Museum which was originally Noumea's town hall, Maritime History Museum, the Museum of New Caledonia and the Geological Museum.
There are many landmarks that should be visited while in Noumea such as the Saint-Joseph's Cathedral which was built back in 1887. The Aquarium of Noumea is a popular tourist destination where you will be able to see a variety of sea life such as striped fish, coral reefs and angel fish just to name a few.
A trip to Noumea would not be complete without visiting the towns ever popular Place des Cocotiers which is split into four sections of Place Feuillet, Place Courbet, Celeste Fountain and Place de la Marne which is where you will find plenty of live entertainment and some fantastic shopping.
