The main minority religion is Seventh-Day Adventist. Peru's capital and largest city is Lima which is situated on the coast of the South Pacific Ocean and is home to over 7.8 million people.
Peru has many famous archaeological sites. The most famous and popular of these is Machu Picchu. This lost Incan city is one of the best archaeological sites in the world. Machu Piccu was once a highly important Incan ceremonial centre and over 100 skeletons and 50 burial sites have been uncovered here during excavations. The Inca Trail, built to reach Machu Piccu by the Incans from the Sacred Valley takes 4 days to hike and is another of the most important archaeological sites in the world.
