Basseterre feature many historical features such as St. George's Anglican Church which was built in the late 16th century and the Independence Square. The Independence Square was originally known as Pall Mall Square was the used as slave market. The Circus is also well worth the visit with the Berkeley Memorial being situated within the centre, one of the main features of the memorial is a drinking fountain.
There are many places where you can do a spot of shopping with the Pelican Shopping Mall, the Public Market and the Amina Craft Market being the best places to visit.
Basseterre is a popular stop over destination for many major cruise ships and in fact its harbour is so deep that it can dock some of the world's largest ships.
