General Information about Marigot

Marigot which can be found along the coast of the Caribbean is the capital city of Saint Martin. Marigot which was founded by the French is home to a population of approximately 5,700. The official language is French, however English is also spoken so finding your way around is simple.

You will notice as you wander through the streets of Marigot that there are a variety of charming gingerbread houses. Marigot also features a selection of beautiful beaches which attracts many visitors each year.

The port of Marigot welcomes cruise ships throughout the year, but only has room for one at a time. If you would like to purchase a souvenir to take home then local markets is the best place to start. The markets are only open on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, but will sometimes operate on extra days. Marigot does also feature a two storey shopping centre.
