Togo is located in west Africa bordered by Ghana to the west, Burkina Faso to the north, Benin to the east and the Gulf of Guinea in the Atlantic Ocean to the south. Togo has a population of 5,701,579 with over half of this population following indigenous beliefs. French is the official language of Togo but there are a few African languages that are also commonly spoken.

There are 37 major African tribes in Togo which account for 99% of Togo's African ethnicity. The capital city of Togo is Lome which is situated on the Bight of Benin in the Gulf Of Guinea and is home to around 700,000 people. The city of Lome has many tourist attractions such as beautiful beaches, the Grand Market, the Fetish (Voodoo) Market, and the Lome Cathedral. Grand Marché is also here and is noisy and crowded, giving a real Togolese experience.
