General Information about Charlotte Amalie

Charlotte Amalie, which is the capital of the Virgin Islands is home to approximately 19,000. Charlotte Amalie is situated on the island of Saint Thomas and because of its deep water harbour the city attracts many cruise ships each year.

As you wander through the streets of Charlotte Amalie you will be surrounded by some of the city's most important historical buildings. In fact Charlotte Amalie is famous for its Saint Thomas synagogue which one of the oldest synagogue's n the Western Hemisphere.

There is much to see and do at Charlotte Amalie and a trip to Fort Christian will definitely be worth the trip. Fort Christian was built back in 1680 and is home to many historical artefacts. Be sure to check out the amazing views of the harbour from the roof. Another place for great views is Paradise Point.
